  • How long are the classes?
All classes are one hour long.
  • Do I need special shoes or clothes?
Clothes: Wear comfortable clothes to classes. You will be moving and getting warm, so bear this in mind when choosing what to wear. Shoes: Outdoor shoes and trainers are not really suitable for dancing. Until you are ready to invest in some ballroom / latin shoes, wear soft light shoes. When it comes to buying your shoes we can advise you on what to look for to suit your budget.
  • Are you able to provide private tuition?
We are sometimes able to provide private tuition. Please contact Sheila on 0116 277 1909 to make enquiries.
  • Do I have to pay at the beginning of the term?
You pay on arrival at the lesson each week. We do not require payment for a whole term in advance.
  • Do I have to bring a partner to dance with?
Most people who attend classes attend with a partner, but we do welcome single dance pupils. If you come without a partner we will be able to teach you and we always have someone who is able to dance with you. For more information 'phone Sheila on 0116 277 1909.
  • I need to dance for a big occasion I have coming up soon. Can you help me?
Of course we can! Depending on how long you have until your event (such as a wedding or a cruise) we can help you to move confidently with your partner for the occasion. Explain your needs and time scale to us and we can discuss the options with you.
  • How many times a week can I come to lessons?
Most people attend one lesson a week, choosing to come the same day each week. Some people come to more than one lesson a week. So the choice is up to you.
  • My partner has two left feet, can you help?"
Dancing helps us learn to move our bodies in a different way and we find with practice even the most awkward movers can usually learn to dance in step with their partner.
  • I have no sense of rhythm. Can I learn to dance?
Very often learning to dance helps us improve our sense of rhythm. Learning the basic steps will improve how we move our body in dance and how we listen to the music. Once you have mastered the basics you will feel more confident about learning further steps.
